Background
Suki belongs to Chris and is a female cat, approximately 17 years old. She has been with Chris since she was a kitten and has not had any form of healing bodywork before.
Chris would like for her to be less anxious and not scratch herself. For the past nine months, Suki has had some sore patches which can irritate her quite a lot, causing her to often miaow very loudly for several hours in the night.
Ten years ago, Suki was attacked by either a cat or a fox. She received a wound to her left shoulder, which abscessed and then burst. It took about a month to heal, and her anxiety began from that time onwards.
Eight years ago, she had a phantom pregnancy and had to have a full hysterectomy. Suki now has a very long scar down her stomach from where she had a drain.
She is a very gentle cat who has only bitten a couple of times in the past when overexcited and when very much younger. She can be quite a fussy eater.
Suki doesn’t like other animals and will often hiss at them. She can be quite needy at times, likes company and likes to check where everyone is. This began when Chris became unwell a few years ago and has continued over the past five years or so to the present day. When she was young, Suki used to be quite independent, but now she will just go into the garden and no further.
Session 1
When I arrive, Suki is sitting by the window washing herself, occasionally looking into the garden. She did come over and say hello but spent the greater part of the session constantly walking around the room, looking out of the window and washing herself a lot.
I eased into a connection and asked her if it would be ok for me to work with her, explaining that she would be able to guide me to wherever she wished in her body. I would then hopefully be able to facilitate any physical and emotional release she deemed necessary at the time.
Suki initially took my attention to her pelvis, where I was able to sense constriction and tightness around her right sacroiliac joint. She was holding some shock in the area, which released with ease, and Chris remembered that she had been lame there last year.
Next, I found myself being drawn to Suki’s belly area, in particular, the left side of her hysterectomy scar. Again, it felt as if the tissue was still holding shock relating to the surgery, and I was able to sense some of this being released. The same happened with the space where her left ovary had been, as more shock was released. She showed me to the space in her womb from which her uterus had been removed, and at this point, there was a strong sense of resolution and ending.
The session organically drew to an end and as I thanked her for allowing me to connect and work with her, I could feel Suki reciprocating my thanks.
Session 2
Chris reported that Suki is screaming less in the night now, instead making a more gentle sound, and is also scratching less than she had been.
Suki seemed to be quite pleased to see me on this occasion and spent quite a long time exploring the connection between us. Initially, she took my attention to her neck and under her chest, both places that were itchy where her hair was growing back, and then to her belly area again. There were energetic shifts from all these areas.
I was shown her pelvic area next in quite a deliberate and detailed way. Firstly the sacrum, followed by both sacroiliac joints, both hips and hip flexor (psoas) muscles. Again, there were constant energetic shifts and releases.
I suggested to Suki that we take a look at her chakras, and she showed me significant energy releases from her throat, heart and solar plexus. There is a definite resonance with Chris today because, as Suki was releasing, Chris’s stomach gurgled constantly.
Chris has reported that since our two sessions, Suki has continued to improve and could probably benefit from some more sessions in the future.
This case history provides an example of my healing work with pets and animals.
