If you love a sound bath and a relaxing, gentle, but effective massage, then VibroAcoustic massage is definitely for you.
This in-person treatment takes about an hour, or 90 minutes if combined with Craniosacral Therapy for more in-depth work. The unique combination of sound and vibration can have the effect of potentially relieving stress and anxiety. It can also help resolve other emotional or more structural issues.
I use a hand-beaten Tibetan bowl, created specifically for this purpose, both around and directly on your fully clothed body, while you initially sit and then lie on the treatment couch. Striking the bowl enables the combination of frequency and vibration to send sound waves not only through the body, but also through the air and the couch itself.
This is often noticed as warmth or a tingling sensation, with the effect frequently felt throughout the nervous system. Within a short period of time, the body softens and tension releases. This could manifest as occasional small twitches and tremors, or even as spontaneous changes in your breathing. This may be followed closely by a softening of the eyes, yawning or swallowing, leading to a state of deep relaxation.

During the session, the vibrations help activate circulation and improve the ability of all of the cells to receive oxygen and nutrients. This can promote the release of any physical and emotional blocks. It can also support a move toward realignment and rebalancing of our original blueprint for homeostasis.
The session comes to a close with a short sound bath. This may or may not be followed directly with Craniosacral Therapy for an even more profound experience.

If you would like to know more about this incredible form of sound healing, which complements my other work so well, this testimonial from a client who has enjoyed several sessions with me provides much more information:
“I recently experienced a series of Sonic Bodywork and VibroAcoustic Massage with Himalayan Singing Bowls sessions with Sarah, and found them to be deeply profound.
From the very first session, I experienced the different sound frequencies gently lifting me into a more expanded state of awareness. It felt as though I was able to access a different dimension of consciousness where the frequency itself had shifted.
This is not unfamiliar territory for me, as I have explored expanded states of consciousness over many years, yet I found these sessions to have a unique purity, clarity and deeply uplifting quality.
Alongside my conscious experience, I was intuitively aware of subtle but profound changes taking place at a much deeper level. They were the kind of changes that the conscious mind may not immediately perceive, but that the body seems to recognise and integrate naturally. There was a quiet sense of restoration and reorganisation occurring beneath conscious awareness.
Sarah is an exceptionally skilled practitioner. She is calm, grounded, deeply present and creates a safe, supportive space in which genuine healing can unfold. Her work is underpinned by a high level of integrity, together with an impressive understanding of anatomy, the nervous system and the intricate ways in which body and mind interact.
As a fellow therapist and healer, I recognise the depth, sensitivity and professionalism that Sarah brings to her work. I would recommend her without hesitation to anyone interested in experiencing the profound benefits of VibroAcoustic Massage.”
